As the Coronavirus marches from nation to nation, spiking fears of a global pandemic, internationally respected water technology researcher and Health Olympics founder Sharon Kleyne and certified acupuncturist Dr. Sarah Faggert Alemi counsel caution and common sense personal health care, including acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).
“Over thirty years ago,” says Kleyne, “I found myself alarmed about the lack of education about water on this planet. What makes this planet healthy?” asks Kleyne. “It has always been water, and it always will be. When you’re born you come out like a sponge and begin evaporating. We live in a water atmosphere. Solar panels, planes, the internet, everything uses the water vapor of the atmosphere. It all began for a reason with a rhythm, but water has to be prioritized.”
Other essential health priorities are met through the benefits of Traditional Chinese Medicine, which includes acupuncture. Dr. Alemi, who began her study of acupuncture during a year-long personal health crisis and became a licensed acupuncturist and Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner, specializes in providing individualized and holistic medical treatments to help patients with a variety of conditions. With acupuncture and herbal medicine, Alemi guides the immune systems and lifestyles of patients to healthy balance.
Acupuncture, dating between 2,000 and 5,000 years according to Alemi, is a process that works with the nerve- endings to calm pain and restore balance. “The needle,” says Alemi, “stimulates the immune-response system in the brain. The treatment can relieve pain, stimulate circulation and strengthen immunity, among other benefits.”
Kleyne wonders why during the opioid crisis that is still going on acupuncture was not widely recommended by doctors and physicians. Alemi agrees that acupuncture is highly successful in treating any addiction and inflammation. But many physicians and doctors preferred pharmaceuticals, a powerful industry that has long opposed holistic alternatives such as TCM.
Kleyne asks Alemi about her discussions about water with patients. “I always ask patients about their lifestyles,” Alemi responds. “I think many of my patients don’t drink enough water,” she continues. “They say they are too busy or don’t have water on them. Unfortunately, dehydration doesn’t wait until they get home.”
